Gardens Of... formed in in 1986 from from the ashes of Neon Christ, as guitarist William Duvall moved on to other projects (now Alice In Chains singer) moved on. Fueled by Black Flag, The Stooges & Black Sabbath, Gardens Of...opened for Suicidal Tendencies, Social Distortion, Rollins Band, Die Kreuzen and Blast, among many others. Breaking up in 1989 before releasing a record, the members moved on to other projects, while keeping in touch as friends. Fast forward to 2021, Jimmy wrote a group of songs that sounded like Gardens Of... style material, and soon the trio of Jimmy, Danny and Brent were rehearsing regularly and looking for a singer. One night at a karaoke party, Danny watched Emily tear through songs by Nine Inch Nails, Blondie, Prince, Beastie Boys and M.I.A. like a cross between Jim Morrison and PJ Harvey. Although she had never been in a band, Emily quickly completed the lineup with a unique style and energy that the band was looking for.
